Create a lossless PNG copy—without claiming lost detail returns.
This converter decodes a JPG and creates a new PNG from the visible pixels. PNG stores that new result losslessly, which can be useful when a design app, editing workflow, or upload form specifically needs PNG. It does not undo the compression already present in the JPEG or reconstruct detail removed when the source was first saved.
Photographs usually become larger as PNG because lossless encoding must describe every decoded pixel without the shortcuts JPEG uses. The conversion also cannot create genuine transparency: the JPG source is already opaque. Choose this route for format compatibility or to avoid another lossy save during a later edit, not as a way to improve image quality or guarantee a smaller file.
